Docklands Luas line Bridge

luas-bridge

The Luas rapid transport lines are significant developments in Dublin's infrastructure. The docklands extension called for the construction of a new bridge over the canal, in this case a concrete structure.

In common with many such bridges, the concrete substrate exhibited variations in shading and colour. Such variations may result from factors such as different rates of hydration, differing types of shuttering or varying rates of pour or indeed inconsistency in materials.

Phoenix Park

The Superintendent's Lodge in the Phoenix Park (originally known as "The Bailiffs Lodge") was planned by Jacob Owen, Architect to the Board of Works in 1834 and was extended and completed by Decimus Burton in the cottage ornée style in 1839.
Burton was architect of many London buildings, including the Triumphal Arch at Hyde Park corner.

The accumulation of old grey paint on eve and fretted bargeboards had started to peel some years previously, exposing the original green colour, specified by Burton. It was decided to redecorate the exterior of the building and revert to the original colour scheme.

Each individual egg has to be date stamped clearly for traceability. It was established that there was a need to ensure that the eggs were free of any static charge immediately prior to the printing process.

The solution was the installation of a Meech Model 915 ionising bar and a Model 904 power unit.
